2008 Bob & Brian Plane Pull Set for Oct. 4, 2008

Milwaukee, WI -- Can you drag a Boeing 717 aircraft 15 feet across the tarmac in less than 10 seconds? If you think you've got what it takes, bring your strength, sweat and perseverance to the annual the 4th Annual Bob & Brian/Laacke & Joys Plane Pull at the Midwest Airlines Maintenance Facility at General Mitchell International Field on Oct. 4, 2008

This year 40 teams (Coed teams of 12, 3 must be female) will put muscle to rope and compete for the top prize of complimentary roundtrip travel to any Midwest Airlines destination, courtesy of Milwaukee’s favorite airline. The second place team will each win day packs from The North Face (including one with a surprise $100 gift certificate), compliments of Laacke & Joys.

Last year's event raised $17,000 for the MACC Fund, bringing our 4 year cumulative total donation from the Plane Pull to just under $45,000.

Other highlights include:

  • DJ's Bob & Brian of 102.9 THE HOG will emcee the day's activities
  • 4th Annual Kids Pull
  • "Kid's Area" with Jer Bear the Clown, amazing balloon animals and face painting
  • Great food and refreshments!

    About the MACC Fund

    The MACC Fund is dedicated to raising money to support critical pediatric cancer and related blood disorder research. Cancer is the leading disease-related cause of death in children following the newborn period. Great things are being accomplished at the Midwest Children’s Cancer Center with research conducted in the MACC Fund Research Center of the Medical College of Wisconsin. We are also pleased to be able to support research at the University of Wisconsin’s Paul P. Carbone Comprehensive Cancer Center in Madison as well as the MACC Fund Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.
