Chili’s MACC Open
The MACC Fund is proud to be partnering once again with ERJ Dining, a franchisee of Chili's restaurants, in the fight against childhood cancer and related blood disorders. Junior Bridgeman is the owner of ERJ Dining and is also a member of the MACC Fund's Honorary Athletic Board. He played for the Bucks in the game when the MACC Fund was formed during halftime on December 10, 1976, Jon McGlocklin's retirement night. The Chili's MACC Open celebrates the MACC Fund's 34th year of a "Gift of Hope Through Golf." The MACC Fund Open was the first major public event for the benefit of the MACC Fund in 1977.
You are cordially invited to join us at Tuckaway's lush championship layout as we tee it up to fight childhood cancer and blood disorders like sickle cell disease and aplastic anemia on Monday, June 7, 2010. We have our sights set on another great event. You can help make that become a reality.
The goal of the outing remains the same as it has since the inaugural outing in 1977, namely to have an enjoyable day on the course while helping raise funds to support pediatric cancer and blood disorders research. The fee is the same as it has been for the past six years, namely $375 each, or $1,500 for a foursome for golf and a cart, lunch and dinner. We will tee off at 12:30 PM in the Scramble / Shotgun format. Throughout the day, you will enjoy refreshments from our friends at Pepsi-Cola and MillerCoors and in the Chili's Margarita Tent!
Following the golf, you will enjoy a bounteous buffet of hearty hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. You can also bid on a limited number of select auction items. The program will begin at 6:45 P.M. and will include an update on research, the presentation of the annual Don Contardi Commitment Award and the winners of the day's events.
The schedule for the day includes:
10:30 AM- 12:15 PM Registration and Lunch 12:30 PM Scramble Shotgun Start 6:00 PM Cocktails and Heavy Hors D'oeuvres 6:45 - 7:30 PM Program and Awards
The MACC Fund has contributed $36 million to pediatric cancer and blood disorder research since its inception in 1976 thanks to many donors like those who have played in the Open, a cornerstone of support. Overall cure rates for childhood cancer have risen from 20% to 80% during this time. We hope that you will be able to join us for the Chili's MACC Open as we "tee off against childhood cancer and blood disorders!"
