The Milwaukee Bucks have been a cornerstone of support for the MACC Fund since the MACC Fund’s inception during a Bucks game in 1976. The MACC Fund was founded by Jon McGlocklin and Eddie Doucette who used Jon’s retirement night from the Bucks to create the MACC Fund.  Doucette was the colorful radio announcer for the Bucks whose son Brett was diagnosed with cancer as a 2-year-old. Brett, the inspiration for the MACC Fund and its first “success story” is now married and living in Arizona.

The Bucks launched the MACC Fund Game – the MACC Fund’s first major sponsored public event – in October, 1977 with the generous help of the Bucks owner at the time, Jim Fitzgerald.  When Senator Herb Kohl purchased the team in 1985, one of his first initiatives was to continue the strong Bucks support of the MACC Fund, and he has kept that tradition alive for 25 years.  The Bucks MACC Fund Games alone have raised over $1.2 million. In addition, the Bucks have raised many more dollars through a variety of sponsored events and programs in the past 33 years.

The honorary game ball will be presented by 7-year-old Emilie Janzen, the designer of the 2010 TODAY’S TMJ4 MACC*Star. She will be accompanied by a member of the News Four team.

The Bucks are offering great ticket packages as well as value priced individual tickets at $10, $15, $25 and $35. Download the Ticket Form Here

Proceeds of the 34th Annual Bucks MACC Fund Game will help the MACC Fund support research in Wisconsin at the Medical College of Wisconsin in the MACC Fund Research Center, at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in the MACC Fund Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders and at the University of Wisconsin’s Carbone Cancer Center in the MACC Fund Childhood Cancer Research Wing. From those humble beginnings on the Milwaukee Arena floor during a Bucks game, the MACC Fund has contributed over $36 million to pediatric cancer and blood disorder research in Wisconsin helping to raise the overall cure rate for childhood cancer to rise from 20% to 80% since 1976.
