The Aaron Rodgers 12 Days of Christmas Starts December 1 at Kohl’s Department Stores!
Kohl's and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Team up with Aaron Rodgers to help fight childhood cancer and blood disorders
Metro Milwaukee Kohl's Department Stores will donate 5 percent of every toy purchase made between December 1st and December 12th, up to $100,000, to the MACC Fund as part of the Aaron Rodgers 12 Days of Christmas program.
Giving new meaning to the number on Rodgers' jersey, the 12 Days of Christmas program is near and dear to his heart because it has the potential to help so many kids in such a big way.
"These children and their families have fought the fights of their lives against cancer and blood diseases," Rodgers said. "It's our turn to join in and help raise the funds needed to eventually eradicate these diseases."
"Many people don't realize this, but childhood cancer is the leading disease-related cause of death in children after the newborn period," said Jon McGlocklin, President and Co-Founder of the MACC Fund. "I'm confident that with the help of Kohl's, the Journal Sentinel, Aaron Rodgers and the generous public, we can increase our contributions to cutting-edge research, get closer to a cure and give every child a fighting chance."
Through the 12 Days of Christmas program, Kohl's expects to donate a minimum of $50,000 and up to $100,000 to the MACC Fund based on toys sales during the 12-day period. The company is proud to be a partner in the 12 Days of Christmas program and has a history of actively supporting kids' health and education initiatives in communities nationwide. Since 2000, Kohl's and the Kohl's Cares philanthropic program have combined to give more than $43 million to support charitable initiatives in the metro-Milwaukee area.
"Kohl's has a long-standing commitment to supporting kids' health and education initiatives nationwide," said Vicki Shamion, Kohl's senior vice president, public relations, social marketing and community relations. "The holidays are an especially exciting time to share the spirit of giving. During the Aaron Rodgers 12 Days of Christmas program, we're pleased that our customers will know that with every toy they purchase at Kohl's, they are supporting the MACC Fund and making a positive difference in kids' lives."
The 12 Days of Christmas program was created by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and is the beginning of what they hope becomes a successful, annual tradition. Each day, starting on Dec. 1, the paper will run a full-page ad featuring the courageous story of a child battling cancer or a blood disorder.
"It's a way for us to learn about the human spirit, the importance of caring and giving. This is about touching the lives of children and families, with the hopeful goal of eradicating childhood cancer and blood disorders" said Tom Baylerian, Director of Sales Promotions at the Journal Sentinel. "This program is special because it lets us all participate in what really matters...giving hope."
