2004 TODAY'S TMJ4 Sports Auction 4 MACC to be simulcast on Newsradio 620 WTMJ
The 2004 TODAY’S TMJ4 Sports Auction 4 MACC which will be presented on Saturday, December 11 from 1:30 until 3:30 PM on TODAY’S TMJ4 will also be simulcast on Newsradio 620 WTMJ.
The simulcast on Newsradio 620 WTMJ will feature Jonathan Green for the third year as the outstanding “MACC’tioneer.” Mike Jacobs and Carole Meekins of News 4 will host the show. Sports collectors expert, Scott Kelnhofer, Associate Editor of Sports Collectors Digest, will provide expert commentary.
All proceeds of the Auction will help support research into the effective treatment and cure of childhood cancer, the leading disease-related cause of death in children after the newborn period. Research has led to an increase in the overall cure rate to 75% from 25% in the 28-year history of the MACC Fund.
The primary beneficiary of MACC Fund support is the Midwest Children’s Cancer Center with research conducted in the MACC Fund Research Center of the Medical College of Wisconsin. Additional support is provided to the University of Wisconsin Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Southeast Wisconsin Regional Field Office, headed by Jim Fischer, will match all of the auction’s bids and proceeds. Thrivent has contributed $600,000 in 6 years to the MACC Fund. Last year’s TODAY’S TMJ4 Sports Auction 4 MACC raised $80,000.
This is the 24th year of TODAY’S TMJ4’s major broadcast commitment to the MACC Fund dating back to MACC*ATHON in 1981. Newsradio 620 WTMJ has partnered with the television station for many of those years, as it is doing once again this year. WKTI has also been a great MACC Fund supporter over the years. We are proud to feature three movie items from 94.5 WKTI's Gino Salomone, a regular contributor about Hollywood and the movies on TODAY'S TMJ4's "Live at 4:30"
