Oak Creek Curves Team to Take On Plane Pull
September 20, 2011

Curves in Oak Creek is a great place for women to challenge themselves with an intense workout. This weekend, 12 of the gym's members will up the ante and take on an even greater challenge - the 2011 Bob & Brian Plane Pull for the MACC Fund.
Teams will attempt to pull a Frontier Airlines aircraft 15 feet across a tarmac Saturday in Milwaukee. The team with the best time will win Frontier Fly Bucks to be used on travel with the local airline.
This is the first year Curves has put together a team for the event. While the competition requires three female participants per group, the Curves' squad is likely to stand out.
"I believe we are the only 'women-only' team signed up," Curves' manager Glenna Goodwin said.
But that's not the only unique thing about the team.
"One of our teammates is a very fit, strong, and youthful 90-year-old!" Goodwin said.
Bob and Brian of 102.9 will emcee the festivities. The Oak Creek High School cheerleaders will also be in attendence to cheer on the competitors.
Those interested in participating can still register for the event here or at the Frontier Airlines Maintenance Facility at the airport on Saturday, beginning at 8 a.m.
Proceeds raised by the plane pull will go toward Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer and research efforts into the effective treatment and cures of pediatric cancer and related blood disorders.
