Lutheran High club event supports MACC Fund

Sheboygan Lutheran Area High School's GLOW Service Club held its inaugural Crusade for the Cure 5K Race/Walk on Saturday, Aug. 13.

More than $700 was raised and donated to the Midwest Athletes against Childhood Cancer (MACC) Fund.

A total of 41 participants walked or ran the course, then enjoyed an awards ceremony, refreshments and a brat fry.

Senior Emily Mech, who coordinated the event, was happy with the turnout.

"Not bad for the first year," she said. "It was a really fun day where the community could come together to support children with cancer. I hope it's a tradition we can keep building on."
