MACC Fund Supported Beneficiary Rated Number 3 in the Nation by Parents Magazine's "10 Best Children's Hospitals" and its cancer care was rated Number 10.
The MACC Fund supports scientific research at the Medical College of Wisconsin and the University of Wisconsin's Paul Carbone Comprehensive Cancer Center as well as translational research in the MACC Fund Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. The MACC Fund committed $5 million to Children's Hospital in support of translational research in June, 2008 to establish a tissue and serum bank, a comprehensive data system and infrastructure for research protocols. Writing to Bill Steinberg, the Chairman of the MACC Fund's Board of Directors, Jon Vice, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Children's Hospital and Health System noted "Through the years, Children's Hospital has benefited tremendously from the MACC Fund's philanthropic support of the Medical College of Wisconsin. This is perhaps most apparent in the star caliber and quiet daily achievements of our shared physicians, medical staff and lab researchers."
