8th Annual Ridin’ for Research to benefit MACC Fund – Online registration to open January 1, 2008

Over 300 indoor cycling enthusiasts are expected to participate in the 8th Annual Ridin’ for Research, an ultra-endurance indoor cycling fundraising event benefiting the MACC Fund – Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer, Inc. which supports childhood cancer and related blood disorder research.

The MACC Fund is leading the fight against childhood cancer and related blood disorders. The primary beneficiary of MACC Fund support is the Midwest Children’s Cancer Center, located at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Research is also conducted at the Paul P. Carbone Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Wisconsin- Madison.

Ridin’ for Research will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2008 at the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center in Whitefish Bay, WI from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Riders may choose to ride between two and six hours.

Since its inception in 2001, Ridin’ for Research has tripled in participation and has raised over $465,000 for research. The entry fee is $25 per rider + $50 per hour pledge requirement. This includes a great t-shirt, goody bag, water, fresh fruit and high-energy snacks. Support throughout the ride will be provided by the UW-Milwaukee’s women’s basketball team under the direction of Coach Sandy Botham.

Ridin’ for Research is sponsored by David Hobbs Honda, Emery’s Bicycle and Fitness Stores, Schwanke-Kasten Jewelers, John Peret Photography, Barrett/Otto Nelson Moving and Storage and KPMG.
